$300 Million Cogeneration Expansion Begins
at ExxonMobil Beaumont Refinery

(Houston, Texas) - Jefferson
County Power Partners, LP (JCPP), began foundation work
for a 465 Mw cogen addition at ExxonMobil's Beaumont
Refinery in Jefferson County, Texas. JCPP was selected
as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)
contractor for the cogeneration power island that is
part of an expansion and upgrade of the existing utilities
plant at the refinery. JCPP mobilized on site in July.
ENGlobal Engineering, Incorporated was awarded detailed
engineering, procurement and construction management
for all work performed within the boundaries of the
refinery.
The new power island will consist
of three GE Power Systems Frame 7FA combustion turbine
generators, each with a heat recovery steam generator
and will tie in to the existing cogeneration system
at the refinery. Construction of the new power island
will take 18 months with commercial startup targeted
for the third quarter of 2005.
JCPP is a joint venture of Black & Veatch
and Zachry Construction Corporation.
