(Austin, Texas) –Texas Construction magazine has announced the winners of its Best of 2005 awards program. The annual competition recognizes construction and design excellence from around the state. An independent jury of industry experts in design and construction judged projects in several different categories in early September. The winners will be featured in the December 2005 issue of Texas Construction. Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel on Wednesday, December 7.

Following is a list of the ZCC projects that won awards:

HIGHER EDUCATION/RESEARCH
Award of Excellence - Harte Research Institute, TAMU, Corpus Christi

INDUSTRIAL
Award of Excellence - Beaumont Cogeneration Project, Beaumont
Submitted by Zachry Construction Corp.

TRANSPORTATION
Award of Excellence - State Highway 45, Austin
Submitted by Zachry Construction Corp.

The jury awarded projects based on entry criteria including project management, overcoming the challenges of the job, client service and safety. Each category has one “Best of” award winner and in some cases one or more awards of “Excellence” and “Merit.”
