ZCC Rises in 2004 ENR, Texas Construction Rankings

July 2005

(San Antonio, Texas) – Bolstered by new jobs such as the $62 million Bayport Terminal Project, ZCC improved its rankings in the 2004 Engineering News- Record (ENR) and Texas Construction top contractor lists released this spring.

Zachry’s 2004 domestic and international revenues of $966 million earned the company the number 36 ranking in ENR’s Top 400 Contractors list, up from 38th place in 2003. ZCC also fared well in ENR lists ranking contractors according to new contract awards and revenue generated by power, industrial process/ petrochemical and heavy projects.

According to ENR, total 2004 revenue for all companies on its Top 400 list was up 8.5 percent from $195.4 billion in 2003 to $209.7 billion in 2004, fueled largely by international projects. The publication cites rising interest rates and supply costs as factors that may impact next year’s industry-wide income.

Texas Construction ranked ZCC as the second largest contractor in Texas for 2004 based on its $570.2 million in revenue for work performed during the year in the state. Zachry moved up in the 10th annual listing from its third place ranking for 2003. The company also topped the magazine’s lists for power and industrial contractors and came in third in the transportation contractor rankings.
