ZCC Rises in 2004 ENR, Texas Construction Rankings

(San Antonio, Texas) –
Bolstered by new jobs such as the $62 million Bayport Terminal
Project, ZCC improved its rankings in the 2004 Engineering
News- Record (ENR) and Texas Construction top contractor lists
released this spring.
Zachry’s 2004 domestic
and international revenues of $966 million earned the company
the number 36 ranking in ENR’s Top 400 Contractors list,
up from 38th place in 2003. ZCC also fared well in ENR lists
ranking contractors according to new contract awards and revenue
generated by power, industrial process/ petrochemical and
heavy projects.
According to ENR, total 2004
revenue for all companies on its Top 400 list was up 8.5 percent
from $195.4 billion in 2003 to $209.7 billion in 2004, fueled
largely by international projects. The publication cites rising
interest rates and supply costs as factors that may impact
next year’s industry-wide income.
Texas Construction ranked
ZCC as the second largest contractor in Texas for 2004 based
on its $570.2 million in revenue for work performed during
the year in the state. Zachry moved up in the 10th annual
listing from its third place ranking for 2003. The company
also topped the magazine’s lists for power and industrial
contractors and came in third in the transportation contractor
rankings.
