Awards Zachry Contract For
Construction of State Highway 45 SE

(Austin, Texas) - The Texas Transportation
Commission selected Zachry Construction as the firm
offering the best-value proposal for the development,
design and construction of a new toll road in Austin.
The new seven-mile State Highway 45 Southeast will connect
IH35 at FM 1327 to SH 130/ U.S. 183.
The commission authorized department
staff to execute a comprehensive development agreement
with Zachry, and designated the new facility as a turnpike
project. SH 45 SE will be a six-lane roadway with a
median capable of accommodating future transportation
modes.
The commission also gave staff the
approval to begin negotiating with Montgomery County
to develop a pass-through toll agreement for highway
projects in that area. When reached, the agreement will
bring improvements to FM 1485, FM 1488, FM 1314 and
FM 3083, as well as to tolled direct connectors from
SH 242 and SH 105 to I-45.
