Construction of State Highway 45 SE

July 2004

(Austin, Texas) - The Texas Transportation Commission selected Zachry Construction as the firm offering the best-value proposal for the development, design and construction of a new toll road in Austin. The new seven-mile State Highway 45 Southeast will connect IH35 at FM 1327 to SH 130/ U.S. 183.

The commission authorized department staff to execute a comprehensive development agreement with Zachry, and designated the new facility as a turnpike project. SH 45 SE will be a six-lane roadway with a median capable of accommodating future transportation modes.
