(Indiantown and Parrish, Fla.) – Black & Veatch-Zachry subsidiary Matin-Manatee Power Partners, LLC, has secured a two-year engineering, procurement and construction contract for two combined-cycle, 4-on-1, natural gas-fired plants for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL).

The new project includes the 800-Mw addition and conversion of existing simple cycle units at the Martin Power Plant in Indiantown, Fla., and the addition of a new 1,100-Mw unit at the Manatee Power Plant in Parrish, Fla. The two projects represent the largest of their kind awarded in the U.S. since 1991.
