San Antonio Livestock Exposition Inducts H.B. "Pat"
Zachry
Into its Hall of Fame
May
2005
(San Antonio, Texas) –
Company founder H.B. “Pat” Zachry’s legacy
still inspires ZCC team members to perform their work with
quality and distinction and to give back to the communities
where they live and work. His commitment to community support
played an integral role in the founding of the San Antonio
Livestock Show and Rodeo in 1949.
More than 50 years later, Zachry’s
exemplary work in support of community is still being honored
through his induction into the San Antonio Livestock Exposition’s
(SALE) Hall of Fame.
This year the committee selected
William Cunningham, former farm and ranch editor with the
San Antonio Express-News; Norm Nevins, former SALE executive
committee chairman; and H.B. Zachry.
The San Antonio Livestock Show
& Rodeo established the Hall of Fame in 1998 to recognize
volunteers who made outstanding contributions to the organization
and the field of agriculture. More than 4,000 volunteers run
the Junior Livestock show and Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s
(PRCA) rodeo in San Antonio, which is a nationwide top-ten
event.
