ZCC Teams with Huntington Environmental Partners
on PacificCorp Project

March 2006

(Huntington, Utah) - ZCC has embarked on a triventure project with Sentinel Construction, Burns & McDonnell Engineering and Barton Malow Company as the prime contractor for the installation of new emissions control equipment at PacifiCorp’s Huntington No. 2 generating unit. The partnership, known as Huntington Environmental Partners (HEP), is responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the project scope, including start up, for the Oregon-based, investor-owned utility.

The scope of work includes installation of a new flue gas desulfurization (FGD) unit and conversion of an existing electrostatic precipitator (ESP) to a pulse jet fabric filter (PJFF) fly ash collection system at PacifiCorp’s 450-Mw Huntington Canyon Plant Unit 2 in central Utah.

ZCC is an HEP subcontractor responsible for several key deliverables based on the Zachry Project Execution Planning Processes (ZPEPP™), the company’s ninestep, field-tested work process designed to create organized, efficient projects. Deliverables include finalizing the project execution plan and providing the ZPEPP™ workshop schedule and project lessons learned.

ZCC workers mobilized at the job site in July 2005 and will be on site changing the precipitator to a bag house and building the wet scrubber until project completion in April 2007. The team is currently working on underground piping and equipment foundations and is expected to peak at approximately 200 ZCC employees with a total of more than 360,000 work hours.

In addition to its work at the PacifiCorp plant, the ZCC team is committed to giving back to the Huntington community. The group recently completed its United Way campaign with 100 percent participation, donating more than $14,000 to the charitable organization. ZCC employees have also been very active with a variety of community service projects, including the installation of a new six- by 270-foot chain link fence and four-foot gate at Huntington City Park, and the construction and repair of wheel chair ramps at the Emery and Carbon County Family and Children’s Justice Center.
