Begins Work on Two of the Cleanest U.S. Power Generators
March
2004
(Indiantown and Parrish, Florida)
- ZCC, in partnership with longtime alliance partner
Black & Veatch, has formed Martin Manatee Power
Partners, LLC (MMPP) to execute work at two new, state-of-the-art,
environmentally-friendly plants for Florida. The Martin
and Manatee facilities – two combined-cycle, four-on-one,
natural gas-fired plants – are expected to be
among the nation’s cleanest and most cost-effective
generating units when completed in 2005.
The sites are also home to two of
the largest contracted power projects in the United
States, and will each peak at about 450 workers. The
Manatee plant is approximately 46 percent complete,
including engineering, procurement and construction.
Crews at each location have already placed several of
the major foundations and are installing all necessary
underground utilities. Combustion turbines and generators
(CTGs) and heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) have
recently been delivered to each site.
