2004
(San Diego, California) – Zachry
has selected QUALCOMM's GlobalTRACS equipment management
system for its heavy equipment fleet.
Since its introduction in 2003, GlobalTRACS
has been helping companies increase revenues and equipment
productivity, as well as reduce overall maintenance
and administrative costs, by providing accurate and
timely information about the operation of construction
equipment.
"We reviewed several wireless
equipment management systems before we chose GlobalTRACS,"
said Mike Monnot, equipment department director for
Zachry Construction Corporation. "We were impressed
with its reliable wireless access to equipment engine
hours and location data, as well as QUALCOMM's proven
record of success. The system will enable us to be more
competitive by allowing us to monitor accurate equipment
usage data, to perform timely maintenance and to increase
security for our equipment."
"QUALCOMM is pleased to be working
with Zachry Construction Corporation, a leader in the
construction industry, to help them better manage their
equipment," said Tim Lewis, senior director of
construction equipment operations, QUALCOMM Wireless
Business Solutions. "By incorporating the GlobalTRACS
system onto their equipment, Zachry will be able to
increase job cost accuracy while reducing maintenance
costs."
"We are confident that QUALCOMM
has the financial, technical and engineering depth to
support Zachry's continued growth," stated Pat
Machler, equipment department operations manager for
Zachry Construction Corporation.
The GlobalTRACS system is an equipment
management solution that offers hardware, state-of-the-art
network services and extensive data integration capabilities.
The system collects, manages and transmits equipment
operating status and location data.
